The Anusara Immersion Curriculum & Schedule
2011 Immersion 5 day format Immersion Dates Level 1 Jan12-16, Level 2 February 9-13 Level 3 March 2-8
The Immersion provides a gateway into a deeper practice and knowledge of yoga on all levels: heart, mind and body. The Anusara Immersion was not designed solely for those who wish to teach, but for anyone seeking to take a journey into the heart. Course may be followed by Level 1 Anusara Teacher Training.
PART 1: Stepping into the Heart (36 hours)
Jan 12-16, 2011
- An in-depth exploration of the Universal Principles of Alignment
- Introduction to the use of props
- Anusara philosophy overview including: Fundamentals of Practice & Ethical Precepts
- Basics of Studentship and an Overview of the History of Yoga
- Elemental anatomy and anatomy of the breath
- Fundamental pranayama, meditation, journaling, contemplation
- Introduction to all the poses from Anusaraís Level 1 syllabus.
PART 2: Riding the Currents of Grace (36 Hours)
Feb 9-13, 2011
Graduates of any Part 1 Immersion (including Immersions prior to the inception of the 108-hour curriculum) are eligible for Part 2. This phase will take you to the next level of personal growth, self-study and depth in the practice.
- A complete review of the Principles, Level 1 Syllabus & an intro to the Level 2 Syllabus
- A plunge into the subtleties of the Universal Principles of Alignment
- Introduction to Asana sequencing
- Intermediate pranayama, meditation, and contemplation
- The Tattvas, Elements, Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and Studentship
- Kinesiology & subtle body anatomy (kundalini, chakras, nadis, & koshas)
PART 3: Seeing as the Divine Sees (36 hours)
March2-8, 2011
Students who have completed both Part 1 and Part 2 are eligible for this phase. Upon completion of Part 3 you will receive a certificate of completion for the Immersion.
- A review & exploration of the Principles, Level 1&2 Syllabi
- A deeper exploration of the subtleties of the Principles & Auxiliary Principles
- Intermediate/advanced pranayama, contemplation, and specific meditation techniques
- Bhagavad Gita and integration of Karma, Jnana, & Bhakti Yoga
- More on the kinesiology of main muscle groups
